Mining & Infrastructure
Copperstring 2032 – Hughenden & Richmond
The Copperstring project involves the upgrade of the High Voltage distribution line from South of Townsville to Mt Isa. Becentia involvement is to provide the electrical and communications infrastructure design to two (2) construction camps supporting 400 and 500 people respectively.
This includes providing detailed technical advice to the Joint Venture team to ensure the idiosyncrasies associated with construction camp design (earthing, segregation of services, voltage drop, and the remoteness of the sites) are factored into the early stages of design to ensure the project is well planned to ensure time and costs are well contained.
Mining Camps - Demountable Construction Camps
Mining camps encompass multiple areas of electrical services design with each site having its own unique complexities. Modular building construction requires that each building, no matter the size, to be designed and constructed in factory before being split, sent to site and then re-modularised. Our team has provided both the internal building detailed design/construction phase services and the external site design planning and construction trouble shooting for numerous mining camps around Australia.
Rio Tinto HD1
Becentia provided the engineering and design services for the construction and installation of the accommodation camp for Rio Tinto HD1 installation, including electrical, communications and dry fire.
Bechtel Parker Point
Becentia provided expert electrical consulting for Bechtel Parker Point, contributing to two key projects. We delivered detailed drafting for nine buildings, ensuring precise and efficient electrical layouts, while also designing the sitewide electrical infrastructure to support operational demands. Through meticulous planning and industry expertise, we helped create a robust, well-integrated electrical system that enhances functionality and reliability across the site.
Barwon Prison
Due to the major works occurring on site, a temporary visitors centre was required for the Barwon Prison. Becentia provided the design and of the electrical, communications and fire services. This facility included open area visitors space and high security visitors area.
Our scope involved detailed coordination with building structure for the installation of secure luminaires throughout the building, lighting control to connect back to the central facilities and dry fire design and commissioning.
