West Moreton – Design Manager 

Becentia are engaged by Queensland Health on behalf of West Moreton Hospital and Health Service to provide building services Design Management across all current projects within the health region.



This involves providing design advice, review services, briefing of senior staff, applications for funding and general design management across a mixture of major construction projects and minor ongoing projects. This includes Low Voltage, High Voltage, HVAC, Hydraulics, Wet & Dry Fire and Medical Gas Services.

Ipswich Hospital Transit Lounge

Becentia Consulting Engineers was engaged as the Principal Consultant (Building Services) for the design and delivery of the new Ipswich Hospital Transit Lounge. The delivery of a purpose-built Transit Lounge doubled the existing capacity, enabling safer patient discharge processes, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced patient flow throughout the hospital.

The project was delivered in two stages, commencing with the relocation of existing back-of-house services and early works design, followed by the Construction documentation and construction assistance for the installation with the on-site building contractor. 

As Principal Consultant (Building Services), Becentia was responsible for the management and coordination of all subconsultants, including electrical, communications, nurse call, security, dry fire, mechanical, medical gas, hydraulic, fire engineering, structural, and traffic engineering disciplines, ensuring the delivery of a fully integrated and harmonised design solution.

Working within an active healthcare environment, the project required extensive stakeholder engagement and multidisciplinary coordination to maintain continuity of hospital operations throughout construction. Becentia collaborated closely with West Moreton Health and the broader consultant team, including the architect, building certifier, and quantity surveyor, to ensure coordinated and seamless project delivery while minimising disruption to patients, staff, and hospital services.

Through effective leadership of the building services team and close collaboration with the client and project stakeholders, Becentia contributed to the successful delivery of a modern Transit Lounge that enhances patient movement, operational efficiency, and healthcare outcomes across the Ipswich Hospital camp

Redcliffe Hospital Redevelopment

In preparation for the major building upgrades to the Redcliffe Hospital as part of the Capital Expansion Project, Becentia have been engaged to rationalise the inground services design to ensure it is practical and constructible, with cognisance of the sitewide construction methodology. This involves close coordination of the High Voltage, Low Voltage, Communications and Earthing Services with all other disciplines on site and swift reaction to any latent site conditions.
